Zachary High Seniors Finish Two and Three In Nationwide Contest
Congratulations to Laura Clesi and Micah Scott! Both Zachary High School seniors placed in a Fleet Reserve Association essay contest on “What the American Flag Means to Me.” Clesi placed 2nd in the contest and Scott placed 3rd. Their English teacher Megan Southall said “I found it very ironic that they all said similar things about the essay: ‘What are the chances anyone from Zachary would win anything?’ Well, obviously pretty good!”
Clesi has plans to attend LSU on a full scholarship in the fall to major in physics. Scott will attend Texas A & M on a $2500 scholarship with out-of-state tuition waiver to major in construction science with a minor in business. Both seniors will graduate this month with a 3.9 GPA.
