Zachary High Seniors Finish Two and Three In Nationwide Contest

Congratulations to Laura Clesi and Micah Scott! Both Zachary High School seniors placed in a Fleet Reserve Association essay contest on “What the American Flag Means to Me.” Clesi placed 2^nd in the contest and Scott placed 3^rd. Their English teacher Megan Southall said “I found it very ironic that they all said similar things about the essay: ‘What are the chances anyone from Zachary would win anything?’ Well, obviously pretty good!”

Clesi has plans to attend LSU on a full scholarship in the fall to major in physics. Scott will attend Texas A & M on a $2500 scholarship with out-of-state tuition waiver to major in construction science with a minor in business. Both seniors will graduate this month with a 3.9 GPA.
