Zachary High basketball stars Ke’Andre Ghoram and Torray
Claypole have received athletic scholarships to play college basketball in the
fall at
Ghoram began playing organized basketball when he was 12
years old.
He attended
Claypole started playing on a little league basketball team
when he was just eight years old. From the beginning he knew basketball was his
destiny. In ninth grade, Claypole played basketball for

Ghoram has already set out to better his game by creating personal goals for himself. “Some personal goals for me are: (1.) To work hard on and off the court; (2.) Strive to be the best that I can be; (3.) Help my team win games; and (4.) Make my family and me proud of who I am,” Ghoram said.
Ghoram plans to major in Criminal Justice in the hope of
becoming a police officer
Like Ghoram, Claypole was also dominant on the court.
He played both forward and center. Claypole
is fired up about playing basketball for
Claypole hopes to get a decent amount of playing time and has one team goal in mind; “I want our team to take it all the way, that’s my main focus for next season and all seasons to come.”
Claypole will be majoring in business management with the hopes of starting his own auto sports business if the basketball career doesn’t work out. “My ideal situation would be transferring to a bigger college after my two years of junior college ball. After that I think it would be awesome to be able to go overseas somewhere to play basketball” Claypole said.
