Brownie Troop 420 Sends Cookies Overseas

A Girl Scout Troop based out of St. Jude Parish received word in January that two of the girls had parents being deployed to Kuwait with the 1190th Deployment Support Brigade. The Brownie troop decided they wanted to undertake a service project, sending cookies to the service men and women. As other troops in the Kenilworth Service Unit 614 heard about the project, they offered their support. The girls had a grand total of 194 boxes of cookies to send. At the last Brownie meeting of the year, the girls were surprised with a package from the 1190th DSB. Each girl received a certificate thanking them personally for their support of the morale of the unit and a camouflage bandana signed by several of the service men and women.
