Baton Rouge Volunteers Spend Day Improving Playground At University Terrace

Over 200 volunteers gathered at the University Terrace School to build a new playground, greenhouse and edible garden for the students on Saturday, March 28 .

Dr. Marybeth Lima, an LSU engineering professor, led the build which removed the outdated playset and installed newer, more modern equipment. There were 47 partners who helped with the build including University United Methodist and Sunrise Rotary Club.

The build was in conjunction with a community day of service and occurred during the Gulf South Summit for Service Learning and Community Engagement which took place March 25-27 on LSU’s campus.
