Hickory Ridge Needs More Neighbors Help

By Rudy Serio, president

Hickory Ridge Civic Association

There may be many things we can complain about, but the Hickory Ridge subdivision has many things to be proud of and thankful for!

The Hickory Ridge organization has done a fine job of getting things done for the betterment of the area. However, if we could get more residents to be active, just think of what we could accomplish.

We only have about ten people who attend the bimonthly meetings. With over 1,000 homes in the subdivision, we can all agree that participation could be better.  Also, as we’ve mentioned in the past, fewer than 50 percent of the households in the neighborhood pay dues. So far this year, we have had even fewer than that.

Please talk it up with your neighbors and let’s get everyone to join the civic association. Everyone receives the same services.  We now have the security patrol going full blast with a very competent deputy who has many years of experience.

Meanwhile, there are still residents who continue to park illegally. We encourage everyone to follow the rules because they make Hickory Ridge a great place to live.

Just to make it easier, we’ve developed some “Good Neighbor Behavior”
suggestions:
•    Keep your pet under control at all times.
•    Obey parking regulations and the single family residence rule.
•    Let us all participate by sending in our dues.
•    Make a special effort to attend Hickory Ridge meetings. (The next one is in April so there is plenty of time to plan!)
•    Please instruct your maintenance crew not to blow grass cuttings into the street.

As in the past, we have a small number of folks doing a large amount of work. Remember, your home is your castle, and Hickory Ridge is where your castle is located. Why not make yourself available to help out when you can? Attend the April meeting so you can offer your services and lend a hand. I will help you to feel good about your neighbors and yourself.

We would like to offer a special thanks to everyone who pitches in to make our neighborhood a more desirable neighborhood. For most of us, our homes are the largest single possession we have. Take pride in your home by participating in our organization and respecting your neighbors and their property. Let’s all be thankful for what we have.
