Cookin' in Central: What a Success!

The 2010 version of Cookin’ in Cental was bigger and better than ever.  Held on a beautiful weekend April 16 – 17, the event drew the largest crowd in its five-year history.  . 
 
On Friday afternoon the crawfish were big and plentiful.  The Saturday barbecue feast pleased the thousands who came out to enjoy things smoked and/or grilled by the outstanding local chefs of Central.  Even the famous “Who Dat Chef” Byron Bailey was in attendance (as seen at right).
 
Judges for the barbecue event included Louisiana Culinary Institute students Sam Bayliss, Erica Martin, Emily Bumgardner and Danny Hollier.     
 





The winners of the Cook-Off were as follows:
 
Brian Muse – Jambalaya
Rick Tolar – Barbecue
Ricky Lambert – Turkey
Double E Barbecue (Don Guyton, Joey Griggs, Brian Kidwell) – Brisket
Jimmy Matanto – Cochon du lait
