Pennington Balloon Championships

Southeast Regional & Louisiana Balloon Championships Return to Baton Rouge

Once again the Pennington Balloon Championships return to Baton Rouge. This year marks the fourth consecutive year that the Capital City will host the state championships. The Southeast Regional Championships will consist of ballooners from 15 states.

This is a free event where families can gather together and watch the balloons rise with the sun, or come back at night and watch the colorful, vibrant balloons light the night sky.

In addition to the balloons, there will be Army parachute jumpers called the Black Daggers and a fireworks display at night filling the skies as well.

Although the nationals will not be held in Baton Rouge this year, they will return for the next three years until 2010.
