Chamber Welcomes New Year With New Schools, Businesses

The Central Chamber is looking forward to a great year in 2007. The Christmas parade / Business Expo / Carnival and the Lighting of the Christmas tree with Christmas carols were all a great success to close 2006.

I want to thank the businesses and the community who came out to share the Christmas spirit. The past year was an excellent year for not only the Central community but also the City of Central Chamber of Commerce.

With the Central Community School District, the community will not be the same. For the first time in history, Central will have neighborhood schools. Only twice before in the past 100 years have Louisiana voters authorized the creation of a new school district. We are blessed. I'm asking all Central Businesses to get involved in helping achieve the goal of $300,000 in the community-wide Cookin' for our Kids. I want to personally thank the Chamber Board members and you for your commitment to the Central community throughout the year.
